Nice mag!
I recently discovered Pixelate and I think your articles could be very helpful for new programmers. I just now submitted my site theinverse.net. The only code on my page is Qb and VB, since my Glut/opengl stuff isnt finished. Because of that, my site isnt so great yet, but...
I am planing on moving the MD2 viewer to glut/c++, adding a pcx reader(I wrote a qb pcx reader I can put o my site) and texture mapping.
If it would help, I could write a tutorial on how I load the MD2 and display the points/textures.
I dont know when I will do the port, but if you are in a pinch, I could help with something else..
One thing I was toying with... As a detour from my old QB and mostly schoolwork c++, I tried VB. I learned it by porting some of my QB apps. I didnt know ANYTHING about it nor does the school have any printed docs.
The basic pset and line commands are the same, but to do smooth animation like pcopy(page-flipping) in qb, I devised a way to use pictureboxes to doublebuffer with BitBlt().
I found NO tutorials on this subject so I spent 90% of the porting time figuring how to do that in VB. This info should be more freely available
That also adds a timing problem, which I made a workaround.
I would be happy to submit snipits on that in the form of a tutorial.
Keep up the good work,
T Jones
