Competition

Uhm...

We didn't get a great response from the previous competition. If you still have an entry then let me know and I'll tell you where to upload it. Because there wasn't so much feedback, I've decided to keep the prizes for the next competition. So what is the next competition? Well, read on and find out.

New Competition

For the next four issues we will have a Game Remake competition. This means that I'll give you short description of an existing classic game, and then you'll have to create a new version of that game. For example, supposing the classic game for this issue were Tetris, you would create a new Tetris game with all the features of the original Tetris, plus a few of your own. Be as creative as possible. Improved graphics, music, gameplay - everything may be improved.

The classic game for this issue is Space Invaders! If you don't know what Space Invaders is, then go and look on the Internet. I'm sure you'll find a lot of Space Invaders clones. Your aim is to create a game which resembles Space Invaders, but with better graphics and music and new game options. Be original!

If you have any ideas for future classic game remakes then please drop us a line at pixelate@allegro.cc.

Prize!

Yes, our new competition has a prize!! This prize was donated by Tim Toner. The prize is a CD packed with lots of programming tools, delivered right to your doorstep. If you want to sponsor or donate prizes for future competitions, then please let us know at pixelate@allegro.cc.
